All proceeds from the Opera in the Gardens make an impact in the community by supporting our charity projects and partners.
ROTARY CLUB OF BROOKFIELD
Brookfield Rotary is involved in a range of projects in the local community as well as supporting the national and international projects of Rotary International.
Recent fundraising activities by the Rotary Club of Brookfield have supported the following charities: The McIntyre Centre, Salvation Army, Alzheimer’s Australia, The MS Society of Queensland, Brisbane Legacy, The Bellbowrie Girl Guides, The Bellbowrie Sports and Recreation club and The Pyjama Foundation.
ROTARY CLUB OF KARANA DOWNS
The Rotary Club of Karana Downs is a group of volunteers from the local community who are proud to serve the local community, as well as Australian and international projects and causes.
The money raised from the Opera in the Gardens goes towards Rotary’s youth projects including the National Youth Science Forum - an annual event which aims at nuturing interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in enthusiastic grade 12 students. Held at the Australian National University, this unique opportunity allows students to be exposed to world leading research, state of the art facilities and like-minded students.
ROTARY CLUB OF TOOWONG
The Rotary Club of Toowong consists of over 40 members, who all wish to contribute to supporting community service locally, nationally and internationally.
Toowong Rotary raises funds to support a wide range of local youth projects including The Disadvantaged Youth Film Festival and scholarships. ROMAC- Rotary Oceania Medical Assistance bringing patients from the Pacific countries to Australia for treatment. Feros Award assisting medical students-doctors and aboriginal nurses gain experience in remote locations and supporting aid to disasters in our region.
Drug ARM is a not-for-profit organisation that reaches out and reduces harms associated with alcohol and other drug use.
The money raised from the Opera in the Gardens will go towards the Street Outreach Service that provides a vital outreach of care and compassion to the young people who are at risk of homelessness, currently homeless or otherwise disadvantaged.
The Drug ARM vans patrol Brisbane each day and night and provide stability and comfort to those who access these services.
